It seems like Sarah Silverman hasn’t learnt from last months construction sign fiasco, when she made a fool out of herself by mistaking construction signs for swastika symbols.
This week, Sarah, Shaun King, and several other liberal “activists” took to Twitter to bring attention to another totally real hate crime that wasn’t a false flag or anything (/sarcasm). A student in Lakeville South high school had apparently scribbled anti-Semitic racist graffiti in the school’s restroom. The writing contained racist rhetoric toward African-Americans like “Fuck N*ggers”, with phrases like “Hail the Klu Klux Klan” and a swastika drawn on the side.
In typical fashion, society’s moral crusaders for justice or equality took to Twitter to bring attention to this incident, which according to them, proved that we live in a racist society.
Also this is Trump’s fault and he is responsible, because why the fuck not?
This “hate crime” has now been debunked by the school, as an internal investigation has revealed that the student responsibly for the drawings is a special needs non-Caucasian student (shocker). The student has subsequently been identified and will be subject to disciplinary action under school and district policy.
An update from the Lakeville Area public schools organisation on Facebook states that teachers received permission from the student’s parents to disclose his identity. The school is also making space available for students who wish to discuss the issue in small groups.
UPDATED STATEMENT ON GRAFFITI FOUND AT LAKEVILLE SOUTH HIGH SCHOOL: On February 27, a LSHS staff member reported someone had written offensive words and images on bathroom stalls. A student subsequently was identified and will be subject to disciplinary action under school and district policy. Lakeville South High School administration received permission from the parent to share that the student is non-Caucasian and has significant special education needs. While this does not excuse the student’s actions, the District believes it will help the community and others put this incident into perspective.
This incident was very unfortunate and certainly does not reflect the values of our community and LSHS. The District does, however, view this as a teachable moment for our students and staff. To foster that, LSHS has created a plan to facilitate conversations regarding diversity with our students and staff.
Cultural liaisons, deans and student support staff members will be available Wednesday to talk with students who wish to discuss these issues in small groups. Lakeville South High School is committed to ensuring that all students feel welcome and safe in the school.
Meanwhile, Shaun King’s tweet has mysteriously disappeared from his Twitter account without any mention of this development. Sarah’s tweet however, is still up. An archive of Shuan’s tweet can be found HERE.
Shaun then proceeded to block anyone who called him out for promoting a hoax. Considering the fact that Shaun king is a reporter for New York Daily news and The Young Turks, it could be argued that he has an ethical responsibility to update his tweet and admit his mistake. Good luck trying to explain that to him though.
